These bonds belonged to her parents when they lived in New York. On June 6, 1993, the Golden Venture ran aground near Rockaway Beach, Queens, NY. The cargo ship passengers, nearly 300 migrants primarily from Fujian Province, China, were being smuggled into America by a Chinese crime syndicate. Each issue contains cultural, political, economic, and educational news relating to the Asian American communities. Sections also include District News, National News, Perspectives on Employment, Legal Matters, and Political Decisions, and an Arts Roundup for the fortnight. Several issues also contain an employment supplement to aid the community on that front.
